The Master of St Saviour Lodge of Installed Masters, Steve Helsdon, invited Charlotte Walton, Operations Manager of York Women’s Counselling Service, to make a presentation to members and their wives and partners who had gathered together to celebrate the 50 years since the lodge was founded in 1972.

YWCS is a charity that supports women who need help, with one-to-one counselling when they need it, for as long as they need it, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Charlotte has worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years and her love of counselling began when she worked for Victim Support, helping people cope with the psychological impact of crimes such as robbery, antisocial behaviour and burglary.

Later, she did more intense training which allowed her to support the families of murder victims, and survivors of rape and sexual assault.

Following her most interesting and moving presentation, Steve had great pleasure in presenting a cheque for £500 to assist the important work of YWCS.
