On the 9th April 2025 at the Beverley Road Masonic Hall in Hull, the Lodge of St Andrew No. 4683 formally celebrated its 100th birthday. The Master, W.Bro. James Billaney, was presented with the centenary warrant by the Provincial Grand Master, RW.Bro. Dr David Chambers, supported by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Bill Glanville, the Past Provincial Grand Master, RW.Bro. Jeffrey Gillyon and the Provincial Team directed by the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W.Bro. Karl Ward.
In terms of its history, the Lodge of St Andrew was consecrated on 8th April 1925 and the ceremony was presided over by The Right Honourable, The Earl of Ronaldshay, The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master. The Lodge original met at the Parish Hall in Hull, which was also referred to as the Meeting Rooms, Abbey Street. A major event in the history of the Lodge occurred on 16th February 1948 when a Special Meeting was called to consider a Notice of Motion to move the Lodge to the Central Masonic Hall, Park Street, Hull. It remained there until Wednesday 10th January 2001 when the Lodge moved to its present home at the Masonic Hall, Beverley Road, Hull where it remains to this day.

Prior to the presentation of the centenary warrant, W.Bro. Michael Graham presented a brief history of the Lodge, during which he recounted the founding of the Lodge on 8th April 1925 and then highlighted important events throughout the Lodge’s history.
Once the presentation had been made, an already special occasion became even more special when the RW Provincial Grand Master presented W.Bro. John Nicholas Bruin with his 50 Years in Freemasonry certificate.
The business ended with the Worshipful Master presenting the RW Provincial Grand Master with a donation of £250 from the Lodge for Festival 2029.
The celebrations continued with the Centenary Charity Ball being held in a local hotel on Saturday 12th April 2025, where the centenary raffle raised almost £2,500 for local charities.
