On Friday February 6th the Brethren of the Lodge of Philosophy No 6057 once again had the pleasure of welcoming W Bro Mark Smith PSGD Past Asst PGM (Essex) probably better known to most as the BBC Antiques Roadshow’s medals & militaria expert, as their guest speaker.
On this occasion Mark took as his subject the ZULU WAR and in particular the Battles of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, made famous by the 1964 film Zulu, starring Michael Caine and Stanley Baker.
As on each of his previous visits Mark’s presentation was both entertaining and informative in equal measure, as he brought the events of over a century ago to life for his audience of around 70 Freemasons their friends and guests.
