A unique evening was held at Helmsley Town Hall on Wednesday 12th February 2025 when Helmsley Lodge 7075 celebrated W Bro Geoff Nicholson's 70 years in Freemasonry.

A certificate and pin were presented by APGM Chris Thomas who was accompanied by a team of Active Officers. His career was outlined and discussed with W Bro David Burnett who had known Geoff for over 35 years which gave Geoff an opportunity to display an outstanding memory belying his 92 years! A copy of the summons and minutes from his initiation on the 9th February 1955, when his father (a founder of Helmsley Lodge in 1951) was in the chair, were also presented to Geoff, who expressed his gratitude to the Brethren. Further celebrations were continued and enjoyed at the Feathers Hotel in Helmsley.
