Members of Ferrum Lodge in Middlesbrough were again pleased to support the work undertaken by The Middlesbrough Foodbank by making a donation of £750.00 from the Lodge and Freemason's Charity of Yorkshire North & East Ridings, especially to help provide meals for local people in crisis over the festive period. The Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust and works using a referral voucher system from frontline professionals including Doctors, health Visitors, Social Workers, CAB Staff and Police and Probation Officers.

Alan Proudler, a Foodbank Trustee and Tracey Godfrey-Harrison, Foodbank Manager, were delighted to receive the donation from Edmund Levie and Ray Walton representing Ferrum Lodge and in thanking Ferrum Lodge members commented: "Whilst generous donations of food are received from Private Donors, Churches and Businesses in our town, we need to purchase additional food to make up an ever growing shortfall. In 2024 we fed over 15,000 people, many of whom were children, and anticipate this will increase in 2025".
