The Provincial Organist

organist2

When a new Lodge is to be consecrated, it is the current Provincial Organists’ remit to form a choir to sing anthems and responses during the ceremony.

Since I am the incumbent Prov. Organist, it fell to me to form the choir for the Consecrations of The Lodge of Diversity & Juno Lodge. I was lucky to get the help and support of W.Bro Eddie Wildman who has himself formed a choir for previous Consecrations. Fortunately, I had heard all the lads sing the Worshipful Masters song so knew they were all good singers, and when asked to join the Choir, they were all enthusiastic volunteers. During the Covid shutdown, we suspended rehearsals but restarted when the Consecrations were announced.

We are now looking forward to our next ‘gig’ on the 9th of April when we will be appearing at the Consecration of Sons of the Widows Lodge at Beverly Road Hull.
