It's time to BRAAI

On August 28th Peace Lodge organised a South Africa themed "Braai" (BBQ). WBro Joop Swint, who has lived in South Africa for 20 years, thought it a good idea to present a typical Braai, with Boerewors, Hamburgers ,Chicken sosatie, and Durban style Bunny Chow (half a white loaf of bread, hollowed out and filled with a fiendish mutton curry).

Our Braai masters were Justin Millburn and David Johnson of peace Lodge, who did a stellar job.

The event went very well and was attended by 55 people who had a great time. We also had a raffle and a TLC teddy to present to the winner when the card was filled.

The ladies that tended the bar arranged ticket sales and fleeced every single one of us for tickets.

The raffle raised £200 for TLC, and the teddy £150.

A good time was had by all, and we hope participation next year will increase.

A big thank you to Billingham Masonic Hall for allowing us to have our event there.

Unfortunately the camera had a hickup, so no pictures of the outside, but worked again for the raffle draw.

See you next year in August for a follow up.
