The YNER & Barnardo's Toy appeal was given yet another boost in the form of a grant from our own charity FCYNER to the tune of £1200 along with a further £300 raised from other events and Lodges.
With the thousands of toys already donated this grant and donation allowed us, after identifying the older age groups who were not as well represented, to balance the deficit.
We visited 4 shops B&M, Smyths, Boots and Primark with a list of items for older children requested from the various charities we are supporting. We spent a total of £1507.03 and the charities wish lists were turned into reality.
Many thanks go to shoppers Michael Mcleavy, Bill Hartley, Daniel Stephen and of course Colleen from Barnardo's who helped with the ladies perspective and saved us some embarrassment buying female cosmetics, not a good look for 4 burly blokes!
Very successful day which could not have happened without the support from FCYNER our own charity we are so blessed to have.
It is so heart warming to know we as a Province have done so much for vulnerable and needy children this Christmas we should be justly proud of what we have achieved.
