The 25th Anniversary Charity Walk organised by Peace Lodge No 3936, Middlesbrough, was held recently.
It was started 25 years ago by WBro John Hemy, as a way to raise money for the lodges charity account. The walk was suspended during Covid Lockdown but was resurrected last year, to reasonable success. It was hard for Brethen to reconnect with their normal activities, so hope to be even more successful this time.
This years route involved a very scenic circular route from Helmsley to Rievaulx Abbey and return.
Fortunately the day was blessed with perfect weather, which makes such a difference to this sort of event. It was very well supported with there being some very eminent attendees.
The walkers will have raised good monies for their respective charities. Looking forward to next year Peace Lodge will no doubt be trying to build further on the very substantial base they have now.
Many thanks to all involved and to W Bro. Johann Swint, the lead organiser.
