Marwood Church of England Infant School in Great Ayton approached Ayton Lodge 9595 for assistance to improve the reading/ nurture facilities for the children in their reception classes.

This would include new reading resources, a CD player with headphones, rug, blankets, cushions and plants under an arch, to make a homely environment for the children. The nurturing, reading space will benefit all children in the reception class; as research has shown, children entering school are only ready to learn once they have developed a variety of social skills. The negative impact of Covid also resulted in some children missing this important stage. The nurturing, reading space will benefit all children in the reception class.

Ayton Lodge's donation of £250 was matched very quickly with a further £250 from Provincial Grand Charity, and £360 from the MCF, as part of the Autumn 2022 Appeal, to fully fund the required resources.
