Dr Adrian Davies, chairman of the South Cleveland Heart Charity (SCHF) seen receiving a donation from Saltburn Freemason David Eason with Keith Robson (Charity Treasurer).

The SCHF charity, which was founded by Dr. Davies and provides support to the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the James Cook University Hospital Regional Cardiothoracic centre. Now retired, Dr Davies was principle of the cardiothoracic unit and built it into what is acknowledged as one of the leading centres of excellence. David Eason is a past master of Huntcliff Lodge 4539 Saltburn and the donation represents his efforts to raise funds from the various events he has organised.

Unbeknown to ourselves Dr. Davies was to accept a second donation after ours from this lady. We decided to stay and learn of her exploits. Her message to SCHF Charity . ” I decided in March after my partner had his quadruple heart bypass that I would like to challenge myself to raise money for your charity to help thank the surgeons and staff who took care of Kev during his stay. My challenge was to cycle 3 Coast 2 Coasts over 3 weekends during the summer. These included the Whitehaven – Sunderland C2C 145 miles over 3 days which I completed at the end of June., then the Walney Island to Sunderland W2W 174 miles in August and finally the Morecambe to Bridlington Way of the Roses. I have just completed my final one this weekend. The first two I had a friend riding with me but the last one I rode on my own. Kev has followed us in our camper van” She raised approaching £2000 Brethen in my opinion total respect is due to this lady.
