TLC Pitstop

TLC pitstop 8

On Sunday 7th September, a team of approximately 40 cyclists, plus supporting brethren, from the Province of Durham, who were on the last day of a three-day charity North Coast Ride from Spurn Head to Billingham in aid of the TLC Appeal.

They stopped off for a well-deserved 'Pitstop' at Guisborough Freemasons Hall, where lunch was served by members of Zetland Lodge 561 and their wives and partners.

The riders were warmly greeted on their arrival, by two Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, W Bro Martin Eggermont from YNER, and W Bro Tom Gittins from the Province of Durham.

On completion of lunch everyone gathered in the lodge room for photographs, and a thank you plaque was presented to a Director of the Masonic Hall Properties - W Bro Ged Demoily, by W Bro Gavin Rowell the Durham Provincial Grand Charity Steward.

On leaving Guisborough the riders were accompanied by several YNER cycling brethren who chaperoned them to the Province border, where they went on to deliver the 4 millionth teddy for TLC nationally and the 120,000th bear for Durham. They were also able to announce that the team had raised an incredible £30,000 in sponsorship for the TLC initiative.
