James gets a TLC teddy

It’s not often that an act of charity comes full circle. But this is exactly what happened to 4 year old James Knowles, youngest son of Worshipful Master Richard Knowles of Corinthian Lodge 3600 on Sunday 1st of June.

Richard writes: "It was a regular Sunday morning when I took both my sons (Christian 6, James 4) to Sunday school. I do this every Sunday as they really enjoy the play group and it is nice for them to mix with friends as well as giving me some valuable time to relax and listen to the service. Unfortunately, on this occasion, when I went to collect them at 12pm, James had fallen from a high piece of soft play and ended up with big bruise on his forehead resulting in mild concussion. He also screamed crying when I picked him up to put him in the car seat which was very concerning. I took him to Bradford Royal Infirmary A and E where we spent the rest of the day with him while the Doctors and Healthcare professionals examined him. Thankfully the CT scan revealed no injuries to his head, but an x-ray of his chest revealed a fractured clavicle which explains the pain he was in when I lifted him into the car. Poor James was given a sling to wear and to my surprise one of our own TLC Teddy Bears. Corinthian Lodge 3600 Based at Hoyle Court Masonic Lodge Baildon supports the Teddies for Loving Care TLC initiative. TLC provides teddy bears to hospitals for children in distress, offering comfort and distraction during both medical procedures and in James’ case for being a very brave little boy."
