“Guidance for Charity Stewards” launch

The Province of Yorkshire, North and East Ridings has launched its latest publication “Guidance for Charity Stewards” at the 2025 meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge.

After a considerable period of time working with Lodge and Chapter Charity Stewards, which commenced with the Provincial Charity Survey last year, we are pleased to launch the publication of a document that is designed to support all Charity Stewards in the vital work they do on behalf of their Lodges and Chapters. The guidance builds on MCF publications, best practice from other Provinces and specifically responds to challenges within our own Province. It is hoped that it will provide a one-stop-shop source of information that will help all of our Charity Stewards to deliver the essential aspects of their role, and in conjunction with other vital functions within the Province, such as Community Engagement and Membership, help us move closer to meeting the Pro-Grand Master’s 7 Year Plan for Freemasonry.

Provincial Grand Master David Chambers said: “We have published this document “Guidance for Charity Stewards” which has elements unique to us and which I am confident will both inspire and assist you in the work you do as Charity Stewards.”

Martin Eggermont, APGM and Exec Lead for Charity and Community Engagement, said: “This is a live document that will be kept on the Charity resource section of the Provincial website, and it will be regularly updated to ensure you have the latest information related to your roles, which are pivotal to our organisation, including the contact details of the people here to support you. I hope that you find this publication helpful to you in your role as a Charity Steward.” The guidance is available in the member area of this Provincial website .  Log in and visit  https://yorkshirenerfreemasons.org.uk/charity-steward-training-and-information
