Cornerstone Lodge at Richmond

Cornerstone Richmond 1

The Cornerstone Lodge attended the Richmond Masonic Hall on Saturday 27th July 2024 . It's the Province's youngest Lodge, and peripatetic.

The Lodge tries to focus on one area of Freemasonry at each meeting and on this day it was the Tracing Boards.

A nugget was first presented on the brief history of Tracing Boards.

The Marwood Lodge of Instruction placed a 3D version of the First degree TB on the mosaic pavement. They delivered 15 pieces explaining different parts of the tracing board and unveiled a piece at a time. Each piece was individually crafted in superb detail.

A young Master Mason Bro. Daniel Stephen ( Senior Warden Hazelgrove Lodge No 6542 Saltburn ) then delivered the 1st degree TB ritual without prompt or hesitation. This received a 2 minute standing ovation.
Behind the WM's chair was a board of the porchway, dormer and pavement which was paraded through the streets of Richmond when such parades took place. The Lodge dates back to 1763.
