Community defibrillator presentation at Hessle Foreshore

On the morning of Sunday 24th March, brethren from the Kingston Lodge and Chapter attended at the boat house of Humber Rescue on Hessle foreshore for the official unveiling of the new community defibrillator. Both the Craft and Chapter donated £500 which was match funded by Freemasons Charity Yorkshire North and East Riding. Making a grand total of £2000.

In June last year we sadly lost WBro Peter Adamson and WBro Paul Goldthorpe, and it was proposed and agreed to dedicate the new equipment to their memory. Our wishes were agreed with Humber Rescue and a plaque was commissioned to mark the occasion.

The plaque reads : "Presented to the community by the Freemasons Provincial Charity of Yorkshire North and East Ridings and the brethren of the craft and chapter lodges of Kingston 1010. In memory of WBro Peter Adamson and WBro Paul Goldthorpe. We hope this AED is well received and cherished by the community."

WBro Marcus Whereat and WBro Neil Armstrong then invited Mrs Janet Adamson and Mrs Debbie Goldthorpe to officially unveil the equipment.

Ryan Bennett of Humber Rescue thanked all for the donation of the equipment and informed us that it has already been used for incidents having been put into service as soon as installed. As can be seen the AED is in a protective key coded cabinet, the codes of which are held by the emergency services and Humber Rescue. There were sufficient funds remaining to maintain the AED for some time to come.
