On Friday, April 12th, 2024, Captain Cook Lodge 4636 made history during its Centenary year by hosting its very first double Initiation Ceremony.
It was a momentous occasion as cousins Jake Andrew Wells, aged just 18, and Keith Malcolm Stewart Wells, aged 21, were both Obligated by Jake’s father, Bro. Craig Andrew Wells. What’s truly remarkable is that Craig had achieved the rank of Master Mason only five months prior, in December 2023. This unprecedented event highlights the Lodge’s dedication to both innovation and tradition as it commemorates its milestone anniversary.
But that’s not all! In addition to this historic moment, the Lodge also welcomed a new joining member, Bro. Ben Monaghan, from the Old Melburnians Lodge in Victoria, Australia. Ben’s journey into our fraternity was special, as he joins his older brother into the Lodge. Proposed by his father and seconded by his Grandfather. Ben’s joining adds an extra special touch of family spirit to our growing community.
Despite the challenges, the double ceremony unfolded smoothly and with dignity, culminating in a heartwarming moment as a father Obligated his son and nephew together. Congratulations to all involved, and a warm welcome to our two new members. Here’s to many more historic moments in the years ahead!
