At their regular meeting on Friday 12th September 2025, following the summer recess, the Brethren of Anchor Lodge No. 1337, Northallerton, were pleased to present a cheque for £705.05 to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The funds had been raised during the year of W. Bro. Steve Kennedy, Past Master, and were presented at this meeting under the leadership of the current Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Craig Spence.
The Lodge was ‘called off’ from labour to receive Clare Deacon, representing the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, who was the honoured guest for the evening. Clare delivered an informative and engaging presentation on the invaluable work of the charity, which is entirely funded by donations and provides a vital emergency service across Yorkshire.
Following the presentation, the Lodge was called back on and the business of the evening concluded in due form. Clare then joined the Brethren at the festive board, where a further £170 was raised through a raffle, bringing the total support for the evening to almost £900.
The Worshipful Master and Brethren of Anchor Lodge extend their grateful thanks to Clare for her attendance and for providing such an insightful talk. This evening once again demonstrated that charitable giving remains at the very heart of Freemasonry. Anchor Lodge has a long and proud tradition of supporting both Masonic and non-Masonic charities, and the Brethren were delighted to add Yorkshire Air Ambulance to the many worthy causes they have assisted over the years.
