On Tuesday 8 April, Anchor Lodge 1337 held its Installation meeting at Northallerton. When they were pleased to receive W Bro Des McKenzie, Provincial Grand Charity Steward, in his capacity as the Representative of the RW Provincial Grand Master, accompanied by his DC W Bro David Oakes.

W Bro Keith Jenkins, the outgoing Master, installed W Bro Craig Spence into the chair of King Solomon in a relaxed ceremony, ably assisted by many light blue apron members of the Lodge.

Following the installation of officers and other lodge business, the lodge was closed in peace and harmony, thanks in no small part to the Lodge Organist W.Bro Mike Harvey whose presence and musical talents always add to lodge proceedings.

All brethren then retired to partake of the Festive Board which was held in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere with members and guests enjoying the sociable company.

Ably supported by brethren of Tees Tablers Lodge who always provide stewards for the festive board installation. An agreement which has existed for several years and is reciprocated by Anchor Brethren at the Tees Tablers Installation.

During the Festive Board a collection for Masonic Charity was held which on this occasion will go to Festival 29.

The new WM then outlined dates of social events for the coming year which will include a Summer BBQ, Christmas meal and the traditional Service of 9 Lessons and Carols, Burns Night, and of course the traditional Ladies Night to round off the year.

With joining members and new candidates on the horizon, Anchor Lodge is well set for the future, and steered by the new WM will continue to welcome all visiting brethren who wish to join in their activities.
