After a long and successful career in The Scots Guards and the Prison Service, Craig Morrison of the Humber Lodge is Head of Security for the huge Siemens Gamesa wind turbine manufacturing site in Hull.
Craig, who is currently Junior Deacon of the Humber Lodge N057 was Initiated on Jan 14th 2020 and his Passing was conducted that year under strict restricted numbers rules during Lockdown.
He says that his experience of Freemasonry is on a par with the camaraderie and ethos of his military life. “Everyone is like-minded with no negativity. I feel part of a team and, as in the army, the support is all around and everyone has your back. I have been all over the world and seen bad things and you get hardened to it. But Freemasonry has changed me. I have discovered an empathy and charity of mind towards others that I rarely felt before. When I first came for my interview, one evening just before a meeting was to take place, everyone greeted me with a warm welcome and an interest in me. That is characteristic of the Fraternity and it totally convinced me I was doing the right thing”.
“I am looking forward to developing and progressing in due time. When those Lodge Room doors close you are part of an entity and you can’t think about anything else other than why you are there”.
“That’s why I enjoy my Freemasonry”.
